About
The Barbados Blackbelly Sheep is a polled (hornless) hair sheep believed to have originated on the island of Barbados.

They are tan to dark mahogany in color with black points on face, a black belly and legs. The rams have a regal appearance with long manes and roman nose, while the ewes are more refined.

They are naturally disease and parasite resistant, non-seasonal breeders, and excellent mothers.

In colder climates they produce a wool coat that is shed in spring. (see pics) The wool lacks lanolin and isn't suitable for fiber, but this quality makes the meat very mild in taste.

"Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow."
